Born and raised in downtown Manhattan, DJ Fresh Direct’s sound has grown from its hip hop roots to captivate the open format review.
Beginning 7 years ago at small dive bars on the Bowery, he now regularly headlines at the premier New York clubs - including residencies at hot spots Marquee, Tao and Avenue. In addition to his ongoing NYC appearances, 2015 has taken DJ Fresh Direct to gigs across the US including Los Angeles (Project, Supperclub); Atlantic City (Providence); Miami (SL, Rec Room); Chicago (Shay); Atlanta (Tongue and Groove), and on tour in Europe and Great Britain.
DJ Fresh Direct is widely respected for his turntablist mixing style that uniquely brings together the music industry and the world of nightlife. His energetic and engaging sets draw from a wide variety of musical styles, appealing to an exceptional range of clientele. Known as a “DJ’s DJ”, his production catalog has garnered the attention and respect the DJ community - from international tastemaker Diplo to hip-hop legend DJ Jazzy Jeff. A master of the art of the opening set as well, he has been called upon to set the vibe for industry’s top talent including Sebastian Ingrosso, Skrillex, A-Trak and Cedric Gervais.
In the studio, DJ Fresh Direct’s endless energy and collaborative style work to optimize the talent of his artists. His creative contributions have helped land them at the top of the Billboard, iTunes and Radio Charts. His original work and audio expertise has led to extensive support of his original track ‘Mary Kate and Ashley’ and collaboration with DJ Sliink, ‘Murder’, and numerous well-circulated remixes.
Outside of the club, DJ Fresh Direct tours year-round as the tour DJ, musical director and recording engineer for pop/hip-hop sensation Hoodie Allen. Highlights of their recent national tours include television performances on MTV, VH1, Fox, and Fuse TV and sold out venues including New York City’s legendary Roseland Ballroom and Madison Square Garden. This year they have already swept through 50+ college campuses across the US and are currently featured on the 2015 Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa’s summer amphitheater tour.
