New Music for Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines day! Was in the studio with my man Zak Downtwon earlier this week and we cooked up this track CUPID over an Emil and Friends beat. Sound really great, check it out. 

And this morning I was also inspired to release this Black Eyed Peas remix of “Can’t Get Enough” that I had been sitting on for a few months. Also, all romantic themed and stuff. Send it to someone special!

Aylen “The Remixtape”

I had the pleasure of working with Aylen doing the mixdown and mastering of his latest release, entitled “The Remixtape”. It’s a compilation of some of his remixes in various styles, the most prominent of which is bass-heavy electro house (we called it complextro). I highly recommend fans of Mord Fustang, Porter Robinson, and Zedd download this project! Also, check out his extensive and very popular Soundcloud page!

Crakk Nicholson: Instrumental Hip Hop Album

While I’m working on anything literary, even writing and sending emails or blog posts, I find it hard to focus while listening to lyrics. Having a solid stash of instrumental hip-hop on deck is really important. Well, the lastest addition to my focus playlist is this dope instrumental album from Crakk Nicholson, which is a collaboration project from producers Benjamin Bradley and Shy Guy. They describe their project as  ”essentially an instrumental collage of regional hip-hop styles, ranging from dirty south stuff to boom bap and L.A. beat music”. Looped Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T.” (the original sample) over some nice housey drums, and then brought it down to Kanye West speed.

Just chopped up the intro on this one with some nice B-More drums for when people ask you to play some Hip-Hop when you’re in the middle of a dance set.

Another straightforward original sample -> sampled track, except this one goes from slow to fast (110-128). Gwen McCrae’s “All This Love That I’m Giving” into Avicii’s floorfiller “My Feelings For You”. Enjoy!

Cee Lo Green - Fuck You (Steely Chan’s B-Murray Mix) by Steely Chan

If all remixes sounded like this one, I wouldn’t be mad at all. Steely Chan takes Cee-Lo’s hit (that some of us might be quite sick of) and funks it out. Great midnight track!

Rhythm Plate describes this as a “Predictable Disco Re-Edit” on his Soundcloud upload, but I don’t mind… That topline synth melody is soo damn uplifting!
